INTRODUCING: SKYND

ABSTRACT DUO SHARE THEIR DEBUT SINGLE AND VIDEO FOR “ELISA LAM” AT CRYPTIC ROCK — WATCH + LISTEN!

Electronic infused industrial duo SKYND have released their debut track “Elisa Lam.” Accompanying the song is the unnerving and eerie video, which was created and directed by TallyHo! The video premiered via Cryptic Rock.

Watch it here and here.

The video depicts the real life tragic and mysterious events of the ill-fated night in 2013 in which Elisa Lam was found dead in the water tank of the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles.

SKYND is the dark creative outlet and alter ego of its lead singer, Skynd, and long-time producer and multi-instrumentalist “F.” Their first track was produced at Studio 301 in Sydney.

SKYND writes songs about mystical, inexplicable, and brutal criminal cases and the mystery surrounding the unsolved death of Elisa Lam inspired the debut single.

“The music picks up this concept of the boundary of humanity perfectly,” said the producer. “That’s why her vocals are so defamiliarised. You can tell this is a human being, but it sounds grotesquely inhuman. Listening to these tracks, you should feel like you’re in a tiny room and the walls are closing in from all sides. In her lyrics, SKYND is the perpetrator and us as listeners are cornered victims. Nobody can escape this kind of dynamic.”

More transmissions from SKYND will be revealed in due course.
