DEMON HUNTER PREMIERE “DIED IN MY SLEEP” VIDEO AT LOUDWIRE

BAND TO RELEASE OUTLIVE ON MARCH 31 THROUGH SOLID STATE RECORDS

Demon Hunter and Loudwire have teamed up to premiere the video for “Died In My Sleep” from the band’s eighth album Outlive, which drops March 31 through a partnership with Solid State Records.

“The video treatment for ‘Died In My Sleep’ was more about an overall vibe than a specific story,” singer Ryan Clark told Loudwire. “The goal was to strip the concept back to strictly performance, but still deliver something visually interesting. Instead of opting for the typical desaturated tones that have become synonymous with metal videos, we pulled inspiration from the vibrant colors found in many of our favorite videos and photographs from the ’90s — namely Nirvana’s video for ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ and the album cover for Alice In Chains’ ‘Facelift.'”

Clark continued, “With ‘sleep’ being a running theme, we wanted to create a world that seemed unordinary — almost like a computer glitch-laden subconscious. We worked with Belief Agency to built a forest set on an indoor sound stage, and used projectors to cast colors and textures against the background and on the band members. It was a lot of fun to set up and just experiment with these layers.”

The song “Died In My Sleep” is free with any pre-order, as is the previous single “Cold Winter Sun.”

Outlive is available for pre-order via iTunes, Amazon, and the Solid State Store.

Demon Hunter will also make a rare live performance this summer, appearing at Chicago Open Air, which takes place July 14, 15, and 16 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois and features KISS, Korn, Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer, Rob Zombie, and more in the lineup. The band is scheduled to perform on Sunday, July 16.
